Abstract

The AA. report here on stratigraphic sections relevant to the timing of the last glacial maximum (LGM) in southwestern Alaska, the region between Cook Inlet and Unimak Island, including the Kodiak archipelago. This work has concentrated on southwestern Kodiak Island and the upper Naknek River on the Alaska Peninsula. From field mapping and theoretical estimates of glacier thickness, they reconstruct ice-surface topography, equilibrium-line altitudes, and ice-marginal positions corresponding to the LGM
