Stratospheric ozone depletion. An overview of the scientific debate

Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

The debate surrounding the likely impact of human acivity on the stratospheric ozone layer has its origins in the early 1970s. The importance, known distribution and fluctuations of the ozone layer will be discussed before going on to consider the physical processes which affect stratospheric ozone. It is considered that the degree of consensus outweighs the image of scientific uncertainty that is often portrayed in relation to the issue of stratospheric ozone depletion
