Abstract

In 1963, open-pit mining at Tahawus, near Newcomb, in the central Adirondack Mountains, temporarily exposed two till sheets separated by 3.6 m of lake or pond clay. Pollen analysis suggests that the pond sediments contain an interglacial pollen record, the first one identified in northeastern New York
