Abstract

The early colonies, established between 1882 and 1914, were already nucleated. The main type of settlement was the moshava. This family-farm village was strongly nucleated, and all the types created after it reveal the impact of its nucleted spatial plan. The factors that explain the dominance of nucleation are cultural, communal, ideological as well as economic.
