Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine the geomorphic effects of a large storm on a number of fluvial fans near Sydney, Australia. Field observations and surveyed longitudinal profiles had been carried out on 12 fans before an intense storm in February 1990 as part of a research project on fanhead trenching. The discussion will concentrate on fanhead forms and processes because the storm effects were greatest at the fanhead
