Abstract

The International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) was designed to focus the attention of scientists, engineers and economists on the increasing losses and deaths occurring globally as a result of natural hazards. This paper examines several projects where geomoorphologists provide significant contributions to interdisciplinary research, and suggests a framework for a comprehensive approach to natural hazard studies
