Abstract

The objectives of the study are 1) to define experimentally the effects of dissolution on the distribution of floral assemblages from the sediment water interface which are truly representative of different biogeographic zones of the Southern Ocean, 2) to develop a tool to quantify silica dissolution in sediment, and 3) to reconstruct changes in silica dissolution during the last climatic cycle in the Southern Ocean
