Abstract

This paper presents a modified valley ice-tongue model that assumes a deformable, subglacial load-reduced basal shear stress, which in turn lowered the ice-surface gradient and produced ice tongues up to 20 km long. Depositional environments associated with these ice tongues help define potential sediment sources and the mechanisms of debris transport
