Abstract

The main hypothesis of this study is that a contour hedgerow system can be a viable alternative to the fanya juu barrier system for effective erosion control on moderately steep slopes in sub-humid / semi-arid Machakos. An on-station field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of contour tree hadgerows and grass strips for soil and water conservation. - (AGD)
