Abstract

Geochemical elements had relatively clear significance in the environmental reconstruction of South Hongshan Lake. Based upon the variations of single index or the combination of different indexes, 4 environmental stages had been distinguished as a cold-dry period from 1850s to the 1880s, a warm-humid period from the 1880s to the 1920s, a fluctuant and transitional period from the 1920s to the 1950s, and a developing period with warming tendency since the 1950s. These features were also well coincided with that of the ice core records and instrument records
