Abstract

To examine the role played by roads, the AA. incorporate a conceptual model of road impacts into a spatially distributed hydroecological modelling system, RHESSys. Simulations are developed for an experimental watershed in the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest in the Western Oregon Cascades. A range of scenarios is used to generate hypotheses about the variability of hydrologic response to roads. Simulation results are also compared with results from an empirical study in the H.J. Andrews watershed in order to assess how well the model captures the process of interest
