Abstract

Gully erosion poses a problem for South African peasant farmers. Land that is already affected by and/or susceptible to this form of erosion is therefore not suitable for transfer to such communities under the Land Reform Programme. Unsuitable land types are identified in the Mfolosi catchment and special monitoring and evaluation proposed if the lands are transfered to peasant farmers. - (AJC)
