Déforestation et reboisement en Nouvelle-Zélande. L'évolution spatiale et les facteurs déterminants.
RATUSNY A. ; Université de soutenance : Universität ;
The destruction of the natural forest in the British colony of New Zealand reached its climax at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century to make way for pasture and grazing land for sheep and cattle. In contrast, since 1985 there has been an increase in commercially motivated reforestation throughout the country. The A. looks closely at these two processes and its impacts on the physiography of the landscape. He suggests a new sub-discipline Hylogeography to express in a better way the complex relationship between the society and forests as natural landscape types. - (HPB)
