Abstract

The trend toward increased production of nontraditional agricultural exports (NTAEs) has accelerated in many parts of the developing world. This article focuses on the efforts of two small eastern Caribbean nations to diversify their agricultural exports in the face of increasing competition in NTAEs. Dominica has begun a niche market strategy, but Grenada is proceeding more slowly with NTAEs, fearful of disrupting peasant agriculture and social stability. - (SLD)
