Abstract

Paper tells the story of Sándor Radó a famous cartographer and Russian spy in Switzerland during the Second World War. After 36 years of exile Radó returned from the Soviet Union and became head of the department of cartography at the National Office of Geodesy and Mapping. In this position he was in charge of the professional supervision of Cartographia, a state owned company producing maps and atlases and founded in Budapest is 1955. Radó played an important role in the develoment of the firm. - (ZK)
