Abstract

The access botanical knowledge in rural communities, authors interviewed adults and children in four townships located in the subtropical montane forest region of the Province of Salta in northwestern Argentina. The four localities represented a gradient of progressive geographic isolation. The isolation gradient showed no effect on the number of species identifies. Children were only slightly less knowledgeable about plant species. - (SLD)
