Abstract

Five-year study at the Santa Catalina experimental station of the National Institute for Agricultural Research, INIAP-Ecuador evaluates the effects of monocropping and crop rotation on yield, above-ground biomass, and weeds associated with four andean crops planted with and without fertilizer. Best sequences for yield and biomass production were lupine (NF)-quinoa, lupine (NF)-melloco, potato (F)-quinoa (NF), melloco-quinoa, and lupine (NF)-potato. weeds were not affected by previous crop or previous fertilizer. - (SLD)
