Abstract

Paper is a follow-up to the work of Schubert and Medina (1982) that identified, via air photographs, possible relict glacial features in the Cordillera Central of the Dominican Republic. Authors conducted a field reconnaissance and found features such as solifluction lobes, block fields, cirque-like depressions, diamictons, and incised alluvial fans that post-date surfaces of postulated Tertiary age but are unexplained by modern processes. Also discussed are paleo-snowlines and corresponding air and sea temperatures. - (SLD)
