Abstract

GIS is applied to landslide hazard mapping for a watershed in central Nepal. Authors construct landslide map through air photograph interpretation and field checks. Then they identified various terrain features thought to influence the initiation of landsliding. Via failure rate and quantification scaling type II, they found geology, elevation and land use/cover to be the most important factors. They produced hazard maps with four levels of hazard classes : high, moderate, less and least. - (SLD)
