Abstract

The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of land parameters, such as soil texture, soil depth, parent material, topography and climate on vegetation performance and degree of erosion in an extensive Mediterranean area. As a typical example, the island of Lesvos (eastern Greece) is chosen, characterized by a large diversity in these land parameters and great susceptibility to environmental degradation
