Abstract

One of the objectives of this study was to determine to what extent the relationship between streamflow and the radial growth of mature Populus trichocarpa (black cottonwood) varies among sites as functions of geomorphology, hydrology and position within the riparian zone, within the semi-arid setting of the California eastern Sierra Nevada. A related objective was to determine to what extent stream diversion influences flow-growth relationships by affecting factors such as vegetation density
