Abstract

This contribution describes a new orthogonal transformation, the Multivariate Alteration Detection (MAD) transformation, based on an established multivariate statistical technique canonical correlation analysis. A case study using multispectral SPOT-1 HRV winter data from 1987 and 1989 covering coffee and pineapple plantations near Thika, Kiambu District, Kenya, shows the usefulness of the new MAD concept
