Abstract

The examples, taken in weathered andesitic pyroclasts occurring in the northern and northeastern part of the island of Basse Terre (Guadeloupe), studied here highlight the occurrence of different clay minerals and their spatial variability both at the macroscale- and micron and nanometre scale of observation. Such detailed observation scales underline the complexity and variability in mineral transformation during weathering
