GOODCHILD M. ;

Abstract

Author begins by considering the various possible definitions of GIS : Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Science, Geographic Information Studies or merely Geographic Information, all of which are restricted to digital information on phenomena descriptive of earth as the home of man. He thinks geography should be the home discipline for GIS and that GIS is part of the intellectual core of geography. - (SLD)
