Abstract

Warren finds a middle ground between the enthusiasm of Goodchild for GIS and the skepticism of Entrikin over GIS's contribution to much of geography. She argues that GIS is part of a larger world mutation in which human and machine interface to form a cyborg geography. This new technoscience is political in nature and so should include resistance. Where such cyborg resistance will lead geography in the future is not yet known. - (SLD)
