Abstract

The vertical and lateral partitioning of major and minor elements among sediments, soils and vegetation was studied on river terraces of different ages in the Massif Central, France. The aim of this resarch was to investigate whether differences in weathering and soil developmenton terraces of different age are reflected in the chemical composition of specific plants (grasses and oak trees). This tests the Russian landscape geochemical methodology for characterizing the current landscape
