Abstract

Cobargo catchment, on the south coast of New South Wales, is an example of a granitic catchment which has experienced dramatic changes in river character in the period following European settlement of the region (i.e., since around 1830). The within-catchment linkage of geomorphic processes associated with upland sediment release, mid-catchment sediment transfer, and sediment accumulation in the lowland zone, has produced a predictable downstream pattern in the distribution of bank erosion
