Abstract

Aerial photographs and Landsat digital imagery were used to assess rates of deforestation in the southern Ecuadorian Andes. Podocarpus National Park in Loja province has had many anthropogenic fires that have destroyed tracts of supposedly protected forest. Useful comments on the utility of vegetation mapping for resource conservation. - (DWG)
