Abstract

In order to analyse the land use in karst areas, examples in Japan, Yugoslavia, Jamaica and Indonesia are reviewed. Secondly, using an example, it will show how an helped at the initial stage to recover the ecosystem in karst areas. Another example from Yugoslavia will be used where reclamation started in 1976. Further examples in the cone karst areas in Jamaica, where the population density is relatively low, and in Indonesia, where the population density is high, are presented
