Abstract

Geography is a subject first taught at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1890 where it grow out of a geology program. Its one claim to fame came in the 1950s when it became the intellectual leader in the quantitative revolution, a positivistic approach which, however, has now greatly declined. - (DWG)
