Abstract

New Zealand's Asia strategy and the region's growth raises the question of what future opportunities are there for the country to enter into economic engagement with Southeast Asia's largest economy, Indonesia. The sectors that are growing rapidly and likely to provide economic opportunities include the education, telecommunication and building sectors. New Zealand-Indonesia trade is dominated by resource based products. In order to gain market share, New Zealand needs to more clearly identify its position and its comparative advantage
