Abstract

Half of the 100 000 Hmong people - refugees from Laos - in the USA live in California. Hmong groups in the cities of Willows, Redding, Chico and Oroville have created ethnic gardens as their most distinct imprint in the landscape of these places. So far their rate of assimilation to American mores has been slow. - (DWG)
