Abstract

Explores the reality behind the popular image of Shangri-La based on James Hilton's 1933 novel Lost Horizons. The A. contends that the Hunza valley is not the utopian place described in the book. The lure of the Hunza as Shangri-La has never been to find it, only to search for it. - -DWG)
