Abstract

This study outlines the interrelationships of the different types of frost wedges as permafrost indicators, and the impact of the change from permafrost to non-permafrost conditions on the different aeolian processes. The spatial distribution is shown by generalised transects from west to east, given in five time-sections from the Upper Pleniglacial to the end of the Pleistocene. The sedimentological analyses give evidence of the sedimentation processes and changing climatic conditions. The spatial distribution of the processes is shown in five time-sections and the palaeoclimatic record is discussed
