Abstract

This paper describes the methodology used to derive maps of Landslide Potential and Landslide Hazard for part of the Nomos of Messinia using a Geographical Information System (GIS). This project is one of a number being undertaken as part of the European Commission Less Favoured Areas Programme. The paper stresses the expediency and flexibility of using a GIS to analyse large amounts of disparite spatial data and to produce maps, as required by engineers and planners
