Abstract

Results are focused mainly on applying evaluative models to geoscientific map data to create derivatives useful for applied purposes and to predict natural hazards and risks. Much progress has been made in using digital elevation models (DEM) for morphometrical landform recognition and to improve morphometrical input data for geomorphological process models. The review is focused on GIS activities in Germany. Further examples refer to specific permafrost model developments in Switzerland
