Abstract

Farmers who to semi-arid Laikipia District maintain humid land-use practices unsuitable to this zone. Interview surveys of household strategies of small-scale farmers and off-farm employment opportunities point to the need for a socioeconomic viewpoint to complement ecological studies to promote sustainability.―(DWG)
