Abstract

Three vegetation belts between 3 200 and 4 450 m are distinguished within which there are other differences as well : shrubs on north-facing slopes; perennial herbs on south-facing slopes; leguminous species on calcium-rich soils. At the same altitudinal level, the chemical characteristics, drainage of the substrate and witner snow accumulation determine which species are present.―(DWG)
