Abstract

This paper aims to find what factors will affect the population change in recent Japanese municipalities. The result implies that important factors are different in population size and economic function through the course of time. Man did not select a municipality that has a better environment of modern urban life. It is noticeable that in the satellite city, « density of manufacturing factory » is becoming an influential factor for population growth. And many small population municipalities are still loosing population.―(KA)
