Abstract

Essay on the socio-cultural background of Ethiopia which has historically favored mountain living, but which also resulted in soil erosion and disruption of the hydrological cycle. According to A., reduction in agricultural productivity led to famine which, in turn, has exacerbated loss of genetic diversity in plants. - (DWG)
