Abstract

Integrating the livelihood of about 5,000 Guarani-speaking Chiripa Indians into a biosphere near the Brazilian border would preserve the environment there and promote indigenous rights at the same time. The main commercial activity would be to gather yerba mate, a wild shrub of the forest understory. - (DWG)
